Chris Evans to Reprise Role as Johnny Storm in Upcoming MCU Film

Third Time's the Charm for Human Torch

Evans Previously Played Role in 'Fantastic Four' Films

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have been eagerly awaiting news of Chris Evans' return to the superhero genre. The actor, who famously played Captain America for nearly a decade, has now confirmed that he will reprise his role as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, in an upcoming MCU film.

Evans first portrayed the Human Torch in the 2005 film "Fantastic Four," a character based on the popular Marvel Comics character. He reprised the role in the 2007 sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer." However, these films were not particularly well-received by critics or audiences, and fans were left disappointed by Evans' portrayal of the character.

Evans has since stated that he believes the Human Torch was not fully realized in the "Fantastic Four" films. He hopes that the upcoming MCU film will give him the opportunity to bring the character to life in a more satisfying way.

"I've always loved the Human Torch," Evans said in a recent interview. "He's such a fun and iconic character. I'm excited to have the chance to play him again and to finally do him justice."

The upcoming MCU film is rumored to be titled "Fantastic Four: Reborn" and is expected to be released in 2024. The film will be directed by Matt Shakman and will also star Penn Badgley as Reed Richards, Blake Lively as Sue Storm, and John Krasinski as Ben Grimm.
